Janas “Jan” Small-Beth, 69

 

 Mrs. Janas Lynn “Jan” Small-Beth, 69 of Brentwood, TN passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, TN. Born Sunday, January 6, 1952 in Paducah, KY, she was the daughter of the late James Leslie “Jimmie” Small and Julia “Judy” (Long) Small.

 

 Jan was a graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and an avid VOL fan. Jan had very diverse work experiences; she was a assistant buyer for a large department store, a flight attendant, a sales representative and Regional Vice President with two educational publishing companies. With her knowledge of her community, her passion to help others and to make new friends, she transitioned seamlessly into real estate. She was a member of the Williamson Co. TN Association of Realtors, Jan has been a Affiliate Broker/ Realtor with Parks Realty of Middle Tennessee for several years. She was a member of Hillsboro Presbyterian Church, Nashville, TN.

 

 Jan was a  longtime owner/exhibitor of American Saddlebreds. CH Vuarnet, CH Then Proof Is In The  Heir, CH I’m Still Dreamin’, Triumphal, and Prince Of Prowlin are just a few of her champions. She was also a longtime Walking Horse exhibitor and lifelong friend, James Nichols got her started in the Saddlebred business. She also had horses with Chuck Herbert, Chris and Stephanie Brannan and finally, Mark Turner.

 

 Jan is survived by her husband Albert H. “Al” Beth of Brentwood, TN; cousins, George E. Long of Benton, KY, David C. Long of Aiken, SC, Bob Treas Long, Jr. of Ballard Co., KY, Carl “Lewis” Owen, III of Louisville, KY and Sonny Bradshaw of Alexander City, AL.

 Private graveside services was held in the Benton Cemetery with David C. Long officiating. Interment followed the service. No public visitation was scheduled. Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th St., Benton, KY is handling arrangements.
